How does in-home pet sitting work? +

We will come to your home to care for your pets on a per visit basis and can customize our services to suit your needs. We charge per visit so the frequency of visits are up to you. We provide all the obvious services such as feeding your pet and providing fresh water, dog walking and/or potty breaks and exercise, cleaning kitty litter boxes, entertaining with toys and lots of love and affection. We can administer medication as needed and we clean up any accidents that we may find to the best of our ability. We will also bring in your newspaper and mail, alternate lights, and water your plants if needed.

How long does a typical visit last? +

A typical visit is 15-20 minutes of personal attention and care per visit. A daily activity note will be left by your pet sitter.

Will we meet our pet sitter before receiving Dog Pack University services? +

Dog Pack University is owned and operated by Mike and Kelly Gubesch. One or both of us will meet with you and your pet(s), free of charge, before providing our services. In the event an employee of Dog Pack University is scheduled to provide services for your pet(s), the sitter will be acquainted with you and your pet(s) so that he or she is familiar with your needs.

What areas does Dog Pack University service? +

Bristow, Nokesville, Gainesville, Haymarket, Manassas and Manassas Park (some areas of Nokesville and Haymarket may have an additional fee). We also now service some areas of Catlett and Warrenton. (Please note that there may be additional fees for these areas).

What are your service hours? +

7:00am to 9:00pm – 7 days a week

What is your cancellation policy? +

Less than 2 hours on same day and/or less than 4 days on holidays will be billed at full rate.

What happens if my pet becomes injured or ill? +

We are committed to providing your pet with excellent care. In the event of an emergency, we will take your pet to either your vet, our vet, or the nearest emergency animal hospital that is open. We will be contacting you or your emergency contact person ASAP.

How do I pay? +

Dog Pack University accepts PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, Zelle, cash and checks.

Do you accept gratuities and how are they handled? +

Our pet sitters graciously accept gratuities. Gratuity may be offered directly to your pet sitter or if you would like to include it with your payment for pet sitting services, the full gratuity will be given to your pet sitter.

Should I notify Dog Pack University upon my return home? +

We ask that you call Dog Pack University at (571) 221-2461 to confirm your return home. This notification will ease our minds and insure that your pet doesn’t go without love and care!

Is there an extra charge for service on weekends? +

Yes, add $3 per visit.

Is there an extra charge for service on a holiday? +

Yes, there is a $10 surcharge per visit on our recognized holidays.

Do I have to sign a contract? +

Yes, Dog Pack University requires a signed statement that you agree to allow us into your home to care for your animals and you are aware of and agree to our policies and procedures.

What time will you visit my pets? +

Dog Pack University will book your visit during a time frame. We will do our best to visit your home within a 2 hour window of your ideal time frame. Please note that during our peak times, your visit time could be adjusted slightly.

If my pet has an accident, will you clean it up? +

Yes, we will clean up any accidents that your pet has to the best of our ability.

Is Dog Pack University licensed and insured? +

Yes, we are fully licensed and insured.

What information do you require before receiving Dog Pack University’s services? +

We require a signed contract for services and the following: keys and any security codes needed for the residence, a copy of current shot records and county dog license, list of any medical problems or allergies your pet might have, name address and phone number of Veterinarian used, and emergency contact information for pet owner.
